Cats Protection is the organisation dedicated to helping, rescuing, re-homing and supporting cats. With 32 adoption centres and 250 volunteer-run branches, we help around 200,000 cats and kittens each year. We are now seeking a Deputy Adoption Centre Manager to join our team in Gateshead. As the Deputy Adoption Centre Manager, you will be tasked with managing an efficiently run adoption centre in line with Cats Protection's main aims of homing, neutering and educating. You will ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard that is in keeping with our vision. Additionally, you will manage all staff and volunteers, including Cat Care Assistants, Receptionists, the Site Maintenance Assistant and Homing Centre Volunteers. Involved in all aspects of the running of the centre, you will ensure the site is staffed effectively, the cats are looked after properly and all policies and procedures are followed and adhered to. So, is this the role for you? If so, we are looking for: - A team leader or someone with experience as a supervisor, ideally within an animal welfare environment or organisation, preferably with cats - Knowledge of the prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats - A full, valid driving licence - A flexible approach to working hours including the ability to work weekends Driven, positive and enthusiastic, as the Deputy Adoption Centre Manager, you'll also need plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure. Great communication, interpersonal and organisation skills will be key, as is an adaptable approach. Knowledge of veterinary treatment or medication would be beneficial to your application.
