Volunteer Receptionist Background information Are you a responsible and reliable person with good common sense, ability to pick up basic ICT and a passion to ensure excellent customer care? The Bridge Renewal Trust is currently looking for new volunteers to join its team of volunteer receptionists operating from the Laurels Healthy Living Centre. A role description and person specification is attached. This is an ongoing role, new applicants always welcome. Role Description and Person Specification Role: Volunteer Receptionist Location: Laurels Healthy Living Centre, St Ann's Road, N15 5AZ Supervision/support: Russel King Hours: 4 - 8 Hours per week Role Description The role of Receptionists is to provide a helpful, welcoming and professional first point of contact on behalf of the Bridge Renewal Trust both via telephone and in person. This includes: 1. Responding effectively to all in person enquiries made at the Bridge Renewal Trust reception desk, including: welcoming Bridge clients/visitors; signposting to other centre services; promoting Bridge activities and services; signposting to other services as relevant 2. Responding effectively to all telephone enquiries, forwarding calls, taking messages or giving information as appropriate. 3. Booking in Bridge clients and recording their visits. 4. Reminding clients about their appointments. 5. Taking and accounting for payments. 6. Liaising with therapists to ensure they are informed about their client lists and have the resources and room set up they need to deliver their service. 7. Keeping up to date with Bridge activities and services as well as other relevant activities and services in the borough. 8. Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Bridge Renewal Trusts equal opportunities and health and safety policies 9. Other activities as agreed. For example: information resource development, promotional and customer research activities, first aider, fire marshal. Person specification 1. Reliable with good common sense and problem solving. 2. Enjoy working with 3. Good communication skills, able to read and write English. Ability to speak other languages an advantage but not essential. 4. Computer literate, able to navigate the internet, use basic packages such as Microsoft and confident to learn other systems. 5. Local knowledge an advantage.
