For additional information, please visit We are currently looking for a Data Privacy Officer (m/f) - Germany As Data Privacy Office for Germany you ensure full compliance with all applicable privacy laws and regulations in Germany. In particular you will be responsible for developing and enhancing privacy compliance initiatives and will interact with departments and works councils across the region. You will report to the EMEA Privacy Counsel and you can be based in one of our offices in Burscheid, Essen, Cologne or Ratingen. Your main responsibilitiesIdentify need for action and changes related to necessary data protection measures as well as determination of the data protection goals Develop guidance for business in order to ensure operation in compliance with local privacy laws Maintenance of the inventory of processes according to the applicable local provisions (currently BDSG) and regular review of its contents Advise on choice and implementation of specific IT-applications and check of their conformity to data protection. Control the correct use of data processing programs, with which personal data is processed Execute the preliminary evaluation of IT-applications according to § 4 d para 5 and 6 BDSG, especially in relation to the processing of special kinds of personal data Review contracts with external contract partners according to data protection rules Monitor development in local legislation and jurisdiction related to data protection Provide training to employees in relation to data protection compliant handling of personal data Review data protection complains related to Germany Build relationship with local employees and their representation Issue Certificate of Compliance with German Privacy law Local contact person for local data protection related issues and for answering external questions Assist in maturing the Global Privacy Program #external Your profileDegree in Law or Data Protection Solid experience in privacy compliance Solid experience in contract reviews Experience with independent counseling to clients Fluent in German and English Good knowledge of EU law is a plus IT education or experience is a plus Strong communication skills and passionate about privacy compliance Client and business oriented Good negotiator What we offerWe offer an exciting and challenging position with great personal freedom and professional responsibility.
