We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual with an aptitude for solving PC problems who is able to deal confidently with users & vendors at all levels in a polite, friendly and professional manner, remaining calm & logical when under pressure. This is a 1 year FTC. Please note, this position includes alternating shifts – 7.30am to 4.00pm, 8.30am to 5.00pm, & 11.00am to 6.30pm (including on call telephone support from 6.30pm to 7.30pm) Monday to Friday. Duties include 1st & 2nd line PC support to meet the company’s published Service Level Agreements in line with the Security Policy, and the successful candidate will be required to: • Manage corporate user profiles according to company policies. • Document and audit client hardware & software. • Install/configure new & replacement hardware & software. • Transport, unpack & install equipment, including PCs and large printers. • Safely install cabling under desks, through workbenches and production lines. • Occasionally access locations by ladder and through service corridors. Please note that the interview process will be competence based and the following competencies will be assessed: Communication, Customer Focus, Problem Solving & Teamworking Experience/ Qualifications: Applicants must have experience of PCs & related hardware and knowledge of Windows operating systems. A minimum of one year’s experience supporting user desktop equipment, Microsoft Office and internet browsers in a busy, business critical environment is desirable. Experience of Windows administration, Lotus Notes or IFS software would be advantageous. Please note this role involves unavoidable manual handling activities and occasional travel to other sites.
