The Medical Systems Division represents Olympus’ largest business domain and is the global market and technology leader for medical endoscopes. Olympus aims to continuously find better and more economical solutions to medical issues which improve the well-being of patients, enhance the working environment for doctors and nursing staff and help to develop the overall performance of health care providers.

Olympus are looking to recruit a Marketing Assistant to work in close conjunction with the Marketing Communications & Brand Manager – UK, MEA & Ireland, Product Specialist teams and Head Of/General Manager group.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyse the market for medical devices within the product portfolio, devising and implementing marketing strategies to achieve the greatest return on investment from Olympus resources.
  • Assisting in planning development, implementing and measurement of marketing communications and public relations activities, both external and internal, delivering measurable projects and campaigns on time, within budget and to a consistently high quality.
  • Assisting in the coordination of activity at both a strategic and tactical level within the Medical/Surgical & Microscopy team to ensure marketing and communications ideas and opportunities are maximised.

Your Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or business and be able to display experience in product management and marketing with a minimum of one year of experience in marketing communications in healthcare related fields.
  • Advanced ability in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Sound commercial understanding of business requirements
  • Experience of journalism, public relations or similar, preferably within a digital media environment
  • Proven success in writing professional web and marketing copy, with the ability to produce compelling and optimised copy while maintaining brand messaging, persuasiveness and readability
  • Proven listening, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Creative thinker with proven campaign experience
  • Excellent communication skills
